AB&I Bids a Fond Farewell to J.S. Ramirez and Manuel Pena
April 3, 2014
On Thursday, March 27, AB&I celebrated the retirement of two Team Members, J.J. Ramirez and Manuel Pena. J.J. Ramirez started working at AB&I in 1984 in the Cupola Department as a Charger. After one year he was transferred to Cast Finishing to learn how to grind and work in the shakeout. During his 30 years at AB&I J.J. has astoundingly worked 28 of those years working on the same grinder! His skill as a Grinder developed because of his perseverance and hard work.
Manuel Peña joined AB&I in 1986 in the Cast Finishing Department and he later moved to the Molding Department as an Iron Shanker. Not only has Manuel trained many Team Members to shank iron at AB&I, he has been the best Iron Shanker for the past 27 years. Manuel has done an excellent job not only shanking iron but also throughout the Molding Department and other areas of the foundry.
Together these two Team Members represent more than half a century of experience. Their talent, ability, and the pride they took in doing their jobs well will be hard to replace.
We appreciate their years of service and wish them a happy retirement!
