Kip Wixson Retires from AB&I Foundry after 55 years of service
December 21, 2015
Kip Wixson’s journey at AB&I started on the shop floor of the plastic plant and culminated as the Executive Vice President. Excelling at every position along the way, Kip validated Arnold Boscacci’s belief in the untapped potential of a young man from Oakland.
Kip’s greatest contribution at AB&I was leading a marketing and sales team through chaotic times, which saw our industry lose 75 percent of its market and more than 20 foundries over 40 years. Kip’s ability to build lasting relationships with customers by adhering to moral and ethical principles, his keen wit, and an understanding of their business were key to AB&I being one of three foundries surviving into the 21st century. Kip’s belief on how we conduct ourselves in the market is a legacy that still prevails today.
There is no one more passionate about AB&I than Kip. Kip has been an inspiration and touched the lives of his colleagues. His presence, guidance, and creativity will be missed as he is definitely a hard act to follow. Kip’s 55 years of service has left AB&I with a solid foundation for many generations to come.
